Delays to bin collections due to bad weather
Normal scheduled bin collections restarted on Monday 27 January.
If your wheelie bin was presented correctly at the time of collection, but has been missed, you can report it to us after 5pm of the scheduled collection day.
A missed collection must be reported within three working days of the scheduled collection. Missed bins not reported within three working days will not be picked up until the next scheduled collection day.
Biffa will review collection information and the CCTV footage from the vehicle. They will check if there is a valid reason your bin wasn’t emptied.
For example:
You will be told if there is a valid reason your bin was not emptied. In this case, Biffa will not return until your next scheduled collection day.
If it is too late to report your missed bin, you can also take your waste to a rubbish tip.
If your items are too big to fit in a bin, book a large item collection (also known as ERIC).
Before you report a missed bin collection please check that you have put out the right bin on the right day.
We are currently unable to take reports of missed bin collections. Please leave your bin out and we will get to it as soon as possible.
If you use a shared bin in a block or flats or building such as a church, council office or a school, you can report a missed collection.
We are currently unable to take reports of missed bulk bin collections.
To ensure your bin is collected please follow the guidelines for putting out your bin.
