Wirral Refuse & Recycling Collection
It has never been easier to recycle your waste. 95% of Wirral's homes now have a grey
wheelie bin for recycling plastic bottles, glass bottles, jars, card, paper, magazines
and newspapers. Since we implemented the grey bin system, our recycling rates have
rocketed! Latest figures show that 30% of all Wirral's waste is being recycled! We
hope that this gets higher and higher.
Garden waste can be composted, or recycled in your brown wheelie bin if you have one, or at a Household Waste Recycling Centre. All other rubbish can go in your green bin, or things like clothes, tetra pack cartons, books, glass etc can be recycled at a Recycling Bring Site
If you’re not sure of your wheelie bin collection days, put your street name in the box below and your collection days will be displayed.
Sick of nappies filling up your green bin? Why not try using real nappies, that are reusable. For more info, visit this external website www.happybums.co.uk
If you would like any help with recycling or your regular waste collection please email us at streetscene@wirral.gov.uk, call us on 0151 606 2004, or ask questions at your local One Stop Shop.
Do you use your local Recycling Centre – is it a tip or a treasure? Merseyside Waste Disposal Authority and Veolia Environmental Services want to know your views on their services, and are asking the public to spend a few minutes completing an online survey. Alternatively interviewers will be at your local Centre on 20th, 21st, 27th and 28th March 2010. You can access the survey by clicking on the link below:
