A permit is required for placing storage containers, Mobile Elevating Working Platforms (MEWPs or cherry pickers) and cranes on any part of an adopted road.
This is to ensure that they are not causing disruption to traffic, are sited in a safe position, and are properly marked and lighted. They must not be placed on pavements or grass verges.
Persons who hire storage containers, MEWPs and cranes are advised to confirm with their hire company that a permit has been obtained.
