The Right Side of Care is a council website for children looked after and care leavers. It is for people living in Wirral and further afield. It provides information for young people and tells them about their rights.
The site has information about fostering and adoption, and much more. It is useful for young people, professionals and carers. It was created in 2014 with children and young people from Wirral.
It supports a welcome pack that is given to young people when they first become looked after. The pack explains the care system and has feedback forms and review documents. It covers three age ranges; 4-8, 9-12, and aged 13+.
The website includes information about:
- what is care?
- your care plan
- your review
- your social worker
- your health
- fostering and adoption
- leaving care and information for care leavers
- education, training and employment
- accommodation
