Coarse fishing in Wirral

There are a number of public coarse fishing waters in Wirral.

An ‘Environment Agency Rod Licence’ will be required to fish the venues listed below and can be purchased online on the Environment Agency website or at a Post Office.

Birkenhead Park

A separate angling permit is required alongside the Environment Agency Rod Licence to fish the lakes in Birkenhead Park. Day ticket or annual memberships can be purchased from the Visitor Centre or bailiff at the lakes.

Angling at Wallasey Central Park and Captain’s Pit

Wallasey Community Anglers work in partnership with Wirral Parks and Countryside team to manage and maintain the fisheries at Central Park and The Captain's Pit.

Any money from memberships, donations and fund raising is used to ensure the future of both ponds.
