Reference Library opening times

Birkenhead Reference Library offers a drop-in service during opening hours (as stated above). If you require specific assistance, please email or phone in advance and give as much detail as possible.

If you are not in the area you can submit a research request. The first half hour of research is free and there is a charge of £12 per half hour thereafter for this service. There is also an additional charge for commercial research.

All central and branch libraries offer the following facilities:

• large print books
• free wifi
• wireless printing via a mobile device
• 1 hour free internet access on public PCs for library members (charges thereafter) 
• study space
• printing, scanning and photocopying facilities
• disabled and gender neutral toilets
• baby change facilities

Birkenhead Central Library also offers:

• Birkenhead Reference Library on the first floor (staffed full-time) - please note, there is no lift to the first floor
• Connect and Inspire Hub (available to hire – enquire via libraries@wirral.gov.uk)
• Hublet Tablets to borrow and use within the library

• free parking on Raffles Road and over Borough Road
