Exhumation
It is unlawful to disturb any human remains (this also includes any ashes). An exhumation cannot proceed without first obtaining the necessary lawful authority.
The fees below include the application to the required authority, the opening of the grave and the exhumation of the coffin.

Surrender of Exclusive Right of Burial administration fee
Surrender of an Exclusive Right of Burial can be requested by the registered owner subject to the provision of the original Deed of Grant issued and the grave has not received any burial.
Surrender fees to be paid will be calculated based on the fees paid at the time of the original purchase of Exclusive Right of Burial minus the administration fee of £60.
