Each school has an admission number, which is the number of places in the year group in which children start at the school (Year 7). Pupils will be admitted up to a schools’ admission number.
Timetable for admissions to secondary schools in September 2025
| 31 May 2024 | Deadline for Request for Assessment forms to be returned. |
| September 2024 | Literature and application forms will be available online or on request. The online admission system opens on 1st September for parents of Year 6 children who live in Wirral. |
| Autumn Term 2024 | Tests for grammar school assessments are carried out. |
| 31 October 2024 | Online applications and Preference forms must be returned by this date. |
| 3 March 2025 | Email offers are sent to online applicants. Offers of school places for paper form applicants are posted second class on this date. |
| May to July 2025 | Appeals to be heard and decided. |
| September 2025 | Children begin secondary school in Year 7. |
